1. Educational Student Initiative

The DavaoBus API and BusMap portal are non-commercial educational side projects created and maintained by an independent student developer. The primary objective is advancing open transit data accessibility and powering the community-driven SkwelaDabaw App (skweladabaw.kurzyrio.site).

2. Non-Affiliation Disclaimer

This project is neither affiliated with, authorized by, nor sponsored by the Davao City Local Government Unit (LGU), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), or any private or municipal transit operators. All trademarks and corridor names remain the property of their respective holders.

3. "As-Is" Provision & Use at Own Risk

All bus locations, schedule windows, and route geometries are aggregated through telemetry sensor feeds and are not controlled or verified by the author. Telemetry is provided strictly on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Users and developers assume full responsibility for their reliance on this information for travel or application logic.

4. Fair Use & Rate Limiting

Developers are welcome to build apps, visualizations, and research models using these public endpoints. To ensure equitable access and protect upstream systems, a fair-use limit of 120 requests per minute per IP is enforced. Scraping attacks or deliberate denial-of-service attempts will result in automated IP blocking.

5. Compliance & Legal Notice

Nothing illegal is manufactured, promoted, or distributed through this API project. The service operates solely as an educational transit data transformation gateway. Should government or regulatory authorities find and prove any aspect of this service to be non-compliant or request its cessation, the service will comply immediately and shut down.
